Drafting Characters

When drafting your characters it is important to remember what the personality of each is, their habits, preferences for clothing etc. Once you have the character as detailed and realistic as any person (real or imagined) then you can start drafting.

A few conventions:

  • Villains have smaller eyes
  • Main characters tend to have large eyes
  • Characters with a cool personality tend to be fairly pretty
  • Rivals tend to have a 'harder' appearance
  • Most philosophical characters look psychotic
  • Many main characters have black hair (Girls tend for light hair)

Below are examples of character drafts. They can be complex or simple. Some are just scribbles.
